At the St. Matthew's Primary School, it would be best to use a Digital Strategy rather than A Technology Plan.
Seeing that a digital strategy is a long term plan, it will detail how the educators at the St.
Matthew Primary school will use various digital technology over a period of time in order to
cater to the varying needs of the 21st century learner.
On the other hand, the digital plan will only outline a comprehensive framework, which
defines how the school plans to support and facilitate learning for students using
technology in the classroom.
Usually a digital strategy should take 3-6 or 6-12 months based on the logistics of
the the school. However, the digital strategy at the St. Matthew's Primary School will take
much longer than that. We will have to extend the time frame to one (1) year or more, due
to the many technological challenges and that exist which will need addressing before the
plan can be implemented.
To help us execute this digital strategy successfully at St. Matthew's Primary school, we can
think about implementing the Boston Consulting Group’s Five Rules of Digital Strategy in
the diagram below to help us achieve success.
